{destined for} greatness

Happy Friday!  ;)   Are you ready for the weekend?  I sure am.

Today I made this little card in well under an hour...a record for me, I'm pretty sure.  I think most people probably create their cards in a fraction of the time it takes me --it's a rare occurrence when I don't spend hours on them {the thought process is what takes me the longest, by far}.  In fact, I've never been one of those people who could get together with friends to work on cards because I need time to think/plan before I can actually start working.  And I can't do that if I'm talking...or listening...or eating -lol!  I've wished I were different, but my "creativity" just isn't sparked when I have distractions.  Crazy, no?  Although I don't know anyone else like that, I can't believe I'm the only one.  How do you do it?

Anyway, I found the sketch for this card while scouring Pinterest and was surprised when I discovered it was a couple years old and from a challenge blog I'd never heard of before {where have I been???}.  I really like it, and the card came together so quickly once I found it --gotta love that!

{Sorry the photo's a bit on the dark side.  I'm not sure how to brighten it up and I can just imagine totally messing everything up if I tried to "fix" it, so I opted to leave it.}

I wish my sewing machine were set up, as I always feel like my cards are missing something when I haven't stitched on them...especially since I don't have any of those lovely stitched dies that are all the rage now.  But, alas, it's not...so I did the next best thing:  some faux stitching with the gel pen.  Oh, well.  I was really pressed for time, so it is what it is.  And what it is is already in the mail.  ;)

I hope to share another one with you tomorrow, so stay tuned....

 Thanks for the visit, and I hope you'll stop by again soon. Until then, many blessings to you!

Oh Christi, I totally get what you are saying about not really being able to get much done when crafting with others. I am the same way. It takes so much time to figure out what I'd want to make, gather the supplies and such. Then...what if I change my mind! Ugh! Maybe take a class with others is better. Then the thought process is out! LOL Anyway, I adore your card...sewing stitched or not. Got a soft spot for school themed cards, you know. Sweet apples with love banners. I like your faux stitching and that awesome sentiment. Can't wait to see your next card. So good to "see" your cards again! :)

Hi Christi! I love seeing your artwork again! I had to laugh, because I am exactly the same way. If I go to a crop I have to bring something preplanned and assembly line so I don't have to think. I hope you've been well!!!
