birthday {mojo}

Well, you're not alone...I'm as surprised as anyone to be posting again, but here I am. ;)  Even though my blog design is rather old, I still like it and feel like it's new since I haven't seen it in such a long time.

I have so many people in my life who are celebrating birthdays this time of year that I've been "forced" to dust off my supplies and make some cards this week {yay!}.  To get started, I was really drawn to the latest sketch over at Mojo I actually made two cards with it as my inspiration.  They're quite different from each other, but that was part of the fun of it for me.  That, and having two cards to share will give me two chances to be randomly selected to win the monthly contest Verve sponsors over there...and who doesn't want to win free Verve stamps? ;D

So here's the first one --it's a bit more on the clean and simple side than I typically make, but I love the crispness of the colors and patterns:
 And the second one?? --well, it's way past my bedtime and I haven't photographed it yet so I guess we'll both have to come back tomorrow. ;)

So tell me, have you been inspired to create something new?

Besides making cards, I tried something else this past week.  See the backdrop I'm using here?  It's one of the doors to our master bathroom cabinet.  Well, the reason I mention it is that it was my first attempt at refinishing furniture --I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint {it totally sold me when I heard there is no sanding or virtually any prep work required!}, and I have a feeling I'll be finding other projects to torture revive in the near was a fun, relatively quick way to give a tired 30-year old cabinet a new updated look {unlike my blog here -lol}!  It was waiting for new hinges, so I thought I'd borrow it for this photo.  The hinges made it here today, so I won't get to use it much longer...well, not for cards anyway.}  Have you ever done anything like this before?  Have you tried Annie Sloan Chalk Paint?

Thanks for the visit, and I hope you'll stop by soon. Until then, many blessings to you!

So, so happy to see you post again, Christi. It's been too long, but I completely understand that life sure gets in the way. The long break sure doesn't seem to have lessened your cardmaking skills though. This is gorgeous! Adore the soft colors. Definitely a "Christi" card! Congrats on the work on the doors to the cabinets. I have't tried that product...well haven't heard of it. Good for you for giving it a go! :) Hope to see you again soon. Hugs.

What a sweet card! The colors are very pretty and I like your mix of patterned papers. I'm glad to see you taking a little time to do what you love! You've been missed!
