birthday {joy}

Happy Tuesday!  ;)

Today I put this card together for a friend who will be celebrating her 50th birthday next week.  Seems that most of my friends are either reaching that milestone birthday this year or next {I think they made sure I would go before them to tell them how it is on "the other side"...like they have a choice --lucky for them I'm such a good sport that I'd agree -lol}.

I used the sketch over at Paper Craft Crew, PCCCS162, as my starting point, and here's what I came up with:
I was about out of daylight when I took this photo, so I didn't capture much of the detail in this picture...sorry.  ;(

I know it looks a bit plain, but the sentiment was embossed in clear on the pearlized cardstock, so it's actually quite shimmery/shiny in real life {really ;) }.  The leafy vine on the flag is embossed in white, so it's got some shine to it  too.  And the scalloped piece is a light lavender gingham {not white}, just like the little piece that's peeking out on the right corner...really soft and pretty.  In hindsight, I think it may need a bit of color sponged on the sentiment panel to make it pop a bit...what do you think?  You also probably can't tell that I used the WOS glitter brush on all of the flower centers, as well as on the pink flowers themselves in the patterned paper {not sure why I singled out the pink ones, but that's what I did}.

Well, the week is quickly flying by here.  I'm sure I'll be back before too long since I still have a couple other cards I need to make before the weekend.  I hope your week is off to a great start!

Thanks for the visit, and I hope you'll stop by again soon. Until then, many blessings to you!
