15 minutes of {rockstar} fame

Well, today's the day that I'm being featured as Lizzie Anne Designs' very first Guest Rockstar Stamper!  Kind of exciting...for me anyway. ;P

***ETA:  I wrote this up for Wednesday but posted it just minutes before midnight, so it ended up having Tuesday's date on it rather than the intended Wednesday's date --sorry for any confusion.***

It's been so much fun creating cards with my complimentary stamp set from Lizzie Anne Designs these past few weeks, and it also 'forced' me to make time to stamp {yeah, I've been really bummed about that -lol}.  I chose a really pretty set called Le Jardin (and I paired it with some sentiments from a few of their other sets); and rather than creating all generic-type cards with the floral images, I challenged myself to think outside of the box a bit...and also making them to double as cards I needed to send out during this busy time of year.

The first one I made was a Thanksgiving card, which I sent to my parents.  I used Card Patterns sketch 40 as my jumping-off point, and the pretty leaf image was turned into a wreath:

My only issue with that card was that the leaf corner punch I used was evidently also a photo corner punch {can you tell I'd never used it before?}.  It left little cut marks in the centers of the top and bottom portions of my 'window' --not ideal, but I really liked the look of the leaves so I'm just trying to ignore it.  And you will too, right? ;)
The second card I made was going to be my favorite but it didn't quite come out as I'd envisioned and proved to be the most difficult...but I still like it.  I took one of their larger flower images and tried to turn it into a poinsettia, and I think it worked...kinda sorta:

I think maybe it might have worked a bit better if I'd cut off the rounded petals and just used some more of the pointed flower petals to be the leaves.  And it could've looked more authentic had I dotted the centers with a lot more gold Stickles.  And it needs a bigger bow.  Gotta love that hindsight. *sigh*  Oh, well, it was fun. ;)  And check out the detail on the button...isn't it beautiful?

This next card was a lot of fun and fairly quick to make.  Inspiration came as I was browsing one of my papercrafting magazines {the name of which escapes me at the moment --sorry} and I ended up combining the look of two different cards, and this is what I came up with:
Yep, I used a single-sided ribbon.  How'd you guess?  ;)

For my fourth card, I went all sunny and shimmery {and if you were here, where it began snowing last night...with temps slated to be hovering between 12-25F for the next couple days, you'd probably appreciate that as much as I do}.  A total flip-flop from that last card.  I embossed a couple different, though very similar, floral images with some glittery embossing powder and I also added some shimmery pearlescent chalk accents.  I think this one may very well be my favorite of the bunch:

In this close-up shot of the 'bouquet,' you can't really see the shimmer in the chalking, but I think  you can see how glittery the embossing powder is {don't you just LOVE that flower image!}:

And for my final card {*sniff sniff*}, I went a little less detailed with more of a clean and simple look:

It's really hard to tell, but this card also uses the same shimmery cardstock as I used on the card right above this one and on the Christmas card.  --HEY, it just occurred to me...I DO have a Christmas card made already!! Yay!!  {Yes, sometimes I even scare myself.}  I also went over the flowers with a clear glitter pen, but it didn't seem to add a whole lot.  I'm really tempted to go over it again with some Stickles to give it that little extra pop I was hoping for.

Well, there you have it.  My 15 minutes of fame {I figured a rather generous 3 minutes per card -lol}.  I loved every minute of making my card samples, and it's truly a pleasure stamping with LAD stamps --their darling images always stamp so crisp and clean!  I hope you enjoyed what I created with Le Jardin.

Thank you so very much, Tricia and Meredith, for choosing me to enjoy this incredible opportunity to be Lizzie Anne Designs' first Guest Rockstar Stamper!  I had such a great time!!!  ;D

And thanks to you who came to visit and actually endured my marathon post, and I hope you'll stop by again soon. Until then, many blessings to you!

Absolutely LOVE all four of these cards. They are absolutely beautiful!!! Thought you should be aware that I have tried several times to leave a comment on the LAD blog, but nothing will submit. I have a feeling that has been the problem for others today as well.
