Can you believe it's July already?!?! I was supposed to have been making Christmas cards since January. One a week, I told myself. And here it is, the year half over, and not a single Christmas card made. ;( How are yours coming along? Have you started yet?
Okay, on to the card....
This one was made for the friends we're camping with. It's their anniversary tomorrow, so I thought it would be nice to have a card to give them. And, yes, I seem to be stuck in a color rut of sorts (could be because I'm using my beloved K&Company stacks so often??), but for the time being, I'm happy here. ;)
I used Julee's current Mojo sketch --hey, that's two Mondays in a row where I made a card on the day the sketch came out! Woo hoo! Boy, I AM lovin' summer! ;D Too bad I can't keep up this stamping/blogging pace all year long...though I think my family would get a little fed up with me. I have NO idea how some of you ladies juggle it all, all the time!
Not sure you can see it (maybe if you click on it to get the ginormous size?), but the card has all sorts of sparkle to it --the patterned paper is very glitter-fied, the white cardstock itself is shimmery, and I added touches of glitter pen to that sweet li'l stamped bird. Not quite what I normally think of in terms of anniversary cards, but I think Kathy will like it (she loves K&Co too!)...as for her hubby, well, I'm not so sure (but that's okay --guys aren't really expected to! lol Am I right?). At first, since they're camping on their anniversary AND over the 4th of July weekend, I toyed with the idea of going with some fireworks (after 15 years together, I'm pretty sure it still applies -lol), but I thought better of it (for this year --lol)...or maybe a cute little trailer image I've been itching to use, but it wasn't working with the sketch. So I opted for the cute li'l bird. ;) Funny what can dictate a card's direction....
Speaking of direction...I just thought I'd rub it in again that we're several thousand feet in elevation higher than home (translated: much cooler!) where we're camping near breathtakingly beautiful Estes Park, going on hikes, bike rides, enjoying campfires, dinners hot off the grill, and roasting s'mores every night (YUM!), and hangin' out with friends --yeah, life is good. Oh, and here's the best part: living without electricity, showers (GROSS, I know!), cell reception, or Internet access. Just kidding (about the 'best part' part, that is --will I survive?! lol). And I'm very likely trying to hide from mosquitoes galore (me nooooo likey!) and the requisite daily afternoon thunderstorm....but at least they don't have tornado warnings up there (that I know of), unlike where we camped last time. Aren't you envious? ;) I know just what did it, too --it's the part about not showering for over three days, right? lol
Well, I hope you all have a safe and happy 4th of July tomorrow (and that you're not taking the luxury of showering for granted -lol)!
As always, thanks so very much for the visit and the sweet comments you leave for me --you make my day that much brighter. I hope you'll stop by again soon. Until then, many blessings to you!
