cupcake and lemonade {friends}

Hey there!! In case you were wondering, I'm still here...just slowing finding my way out from under a huge mountain of laundry from our camping trip, dealing with a leaky dishwasher, finishing up our last week of school (YAY!!), and helping out with VBS at church this week. And my hubby and I are in our second week of a cleanse (check it out if you dare -lol) --our first time ever doing something like this (but since we're so full of it, I'm sure it'll prove to be a good thing in the end -lol)-- so I'm a bit more tired than usual. We plan to stick with it for the recommended three months, but don't worry, I won't be giving you a detailed account of our journey. ;)

Um, yeah...okay, then.... So I really just wanted to say that I have the sweetest blog friends and I'm so happy to have met and been inspired by so many wonderful ladies through the Internet, all because of our mad passion for stamping. Seems so weird to say I have "friends" that I've never met, but I do, and I'll bet most of you feel the same way.

For instance, my last two posts didn't ever come through via FeedBlitz, but somehow in the last week or so I've been given two awards by people I've never met in real life. It warms my heart to know that there are people (even if it's only two -lol) who think of me even when I don't have much time to visit their blogs or share on my own. Silly, I know, but it makes me feel good (it's the little things in life, ya know?). And I think it's truly amazing how many people there are in this world who have so much in common with each other, yet it seems that often times it's so hard to find them in real life...and we're indeed blessed when we do. But regardless of where friends meet, I feel so blessed to have some very special ladies in my life.

This first award was given to me by my relatively new friend, Marie (thanks so much, Marie!): Marie and I have a LOT in common, and we even live {fairly} close by. According to Marie's blog, the meaning behind this Friendship award is:

"These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated." It also says: "Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."

And then there's this cute little Lemonade Stand Award (who creates these things?!): Homemade lemonade sounds good too...or it will when the sun comes out again. lol We've had unseasonably cool temps (in the upper 40s today), cloudy skies, thunderstorms, and even some rain, so hot chai tea has been my beverage of choice lately.

Anyway, both Marie and Barb honored me with this sweet award (thank you so much, ladies!), and I thought I'd share it with all of you cuz you know I can't just pick a small handful of my favorite bloggers (and when I've tried, well, I usually just get ignored --guess I haven't made that many Internet friends -lol).... So, if you're reading this, please consider yourself the recipient of both of these charming awards. Sound good? ;)

The rules of this sweet little Lemonade Stand Award are:
1. Comment on this blog.
2. Cut and paste the award logo and use it in your own blog.
3. Nominate 5 to 10 bloggers you feel show great attitude and gratitude.
4. Link to your nominees within your blog post.
5. Comment on their blogs to let them know they've received the award.
6. Link back to the person who gave you the award to show your appreciation.

And speaking of Barb, here's the card I made for her birthday the other day (yes, I'm still on a K&Company kick):
Here's the inside: Hmmmmm...now that I think about it, makes me wonder if receiving this cupcake prompted her to share her lemonade with me? (Just kidding, Barb!)

Thanks so much for the visit, and I hope you'll stop by again soon. Until then, many blessings to you!

Congrats on your well-deserved awards!

Did you all get rained on over Memorial Day weekend? I know we sure got a lot of wet stuff. (at least it wasn't snow)

And YAY that your school year has ended and hopefully you can enjoy some well deserved down time with your kids.

How come I didn't know Barb's birthday was coming up? Someone forgot to give me the memo...your card is fantastic (as usual) and I am sure she loved it!

Congrats on your awards! I can't think of anyone more deserving! You are a sweetheart of a blogger! Your comments are always so kind and personal, not the generic "cute card" that we all find ourselves doing sometimes in our rush.
I do love the card! The paper is yummy, I want some! Ah, I have a paper sickness :( hee hee....

Congrats on your awards. You really are a sweetie and deserve them both! I DO want to hear more about the Cleanse...perhaps in an e-mail! LOL!

And I just wanted to say thank you again for the beautiful card...this photo does not do it justice...it sparkles like diamonds IRL. LOVE it!

I'm glad you're back home and settling in for some fun summer time activities with the kiddos!

Hugs,
Barb
