Vintage for You

Wow -- where does the time go?!? I've not been trying to be neglectful here, but.... We've been knee-deep in school books and filling our "spare" time with various appointments and other commitments, and, because of that, my stamping time has been a big zippo these last two weeks. ;( I've even been dreaming about it --Do any of you ever dream of stamping? lol-- and trying to plan what I'm going to do next because I've got several special birthdays coming up in the next week or so...but since it's not yet being translated from mind to paper, I'm starting to panic over my being so behind with the cards and gifts I want to make (if you'll recall, no one would ever mistake me for a fast stamper). I'm trying my best not to whine, but it is really frustrating to have all sorts of supplies staring at me night and day and I. just. can't. quite. reach. them. UGH!!

I noticed, too, that I've lost a couple subscribers recently...I can only assume it's due to my lack of posting. ;( I'm truly sorry about that --and I wish it were different-- but I'm finding that sometimes life just has to take a front seat to the fun stuff, ya know? (At least that's what we're trying to teach the kids...chores and school before play...and if we don't model it ourselves, what good is the lesson?) I am so in awe of those gals who can stamp {and post} daily! I would LOVE to learn how to do that (short of getting a lot less sleep -lol)!

Okay...back to why you dropped by (if anyone is still dropping by, that is -lol). I made this card to thank some of our relatives for being so kind as to share their beach house with us while we were visiting in California last month. (Thankfully, I had actually made it for them before we ever left on our trip and it went postal weeks ago, so I'm not quite the ingrate that it might seem. lol)

I used a sketch by Kazan Clark (of 2Sketches4You fame) when it was used as inspiration for a Caard{varks} Sensational Sketches challenge several weeks back (it was actually current when I made the card). Lockhart's Adirondack Chair would've been the perfect image to use for this particular card, but since I don't yet own it, I went with Vintage Garden Chair instead and colored it in using my waterbrush and ink pads on watercolor paper.

Well, I should be back before the weekend with another card to post, as I need to have one ready to give by Friday. Hopefully I'll have time to get it posted. ;)

So, as always, thanks so much for the visit, and I hope you'll stop by again soon. (I hope I beat you back here...and if I don't, I appreciate your being understanding and hang in there with me.) Until then, many blessings to you!

If you haven't gotten any comments yet, it may be the same case as me ... I didn't receive it via my e-mail (this has happened before but corrected itself within a couple of postings), but just decided to check your blog addy "just in case" I just wasn't getting it -- which IS the case. Can't figure that one out. In any case, I LOVE this card -- it is precious and so cheery. Love the idea of the folded dp for the flower center!

What a fantastic card this is, Christi! Well worth any "wait" time between postings. I get unsubscribes all the time and maybe the people are just switching over to Google Reader. Ü Don't fret about it, the die-hards (like me) will never leave ya!

The stitching on this card adds such a finishing touch and I love that flower with the paper center. No need to rush a card when they come out like this one.

Family first, always and post when you can.
Hugs!!

That's a really pretty card, Christi! I am loving all the sewing on it! And what you did with the flower, very clever. TFS.

And I don't even have to go in to the whole 'family first' thing with you, 'cuz you already know where I stand. Your priorities are in the right place, my friend. Not to0 worry about a few drop-offs. You create on YOUR time. I love seeing your work whenever you post.

Beautiful card Christi! I love your work so much and it's definitely worth the wait when life has other things for you to do. In my opinion, you have your priorities in order. I check in often and will continue to do so. And yes, I dream about making stuff too :)

This is beautifully done--so fresh and lovely to look at! In fact, all your cards are fabulous! You're doing the right thing making your real life a priority. I struggle sometimes to get everything done. I love to stamp but I don't want to make it a chore. Bravo to you!

Have no fear Christi! We all know to well, how life's "stuff" can get in the way of our stampin' and scrappin'. I have also been having a hard time fitting in my fun stuff.

Have a great day!

What a pretty card Christi!!! I love the colors that you have used and that image is perfect for such an occasion!! That is a great lesson to teach your kids ~ and the only way I can do it is, like you said, by staying up late at night!! Good thing I must only need 6 hours of sleep!! (LOL) Have a great night :)Kathy
