Zinnias

Catchy title, eh? lol I couldn't come up with anything better, so I decided to just go with the obvious.

Well, I think it's been a full FOUR weeks since I've stamped now, and I'm definitely feeling the effects of withdrawals. Seriously. Do you ever feel a little gloomy when you've not been able to play with your stamps for such a long period of time? Hopefully you wouldn't know because it hasn't happened to you before. ;) I realize it probably sounds pretty pathetic, but I can't help it. I was so hoping to fit some stamping time in somewhere this past week, but after being gone nearly three weeks, it seems I just had too much to catch up on...and I'm still not where I should be. ;(

I'm still runnin' short on time, so this post will be really quick. Lucky you! ;) This is a card I made before I left (using a sketch from Caard{varks} Sensational Sketches). Unfortunately I didn't have time to enter it into their challenge, but it was fun to play along anyway. And because I've got a lot of reasons to be thankful, I also have another one waiting in the wings that was inspired by the other sketch in that same Caard{varks} challenge post. In fact, in addition to that one, I'm sure you'll be seeing several other Thank You cards come this way shortly (if I get my act together and get them made, that is!).

For this card, I used Lockhart's Zinnias stamp for my main image, and Close To My Heart's Adorable Backgrounds (flourish) and Say It in Style (sentiment). The colors are a bit bright for me, but I was wanting to use something from my Sultry 6x6 pack designer paper by Basic Grey. The card's pretty basic. I did stamp the flowers a second time and cut some of them out to lay on top of the original stamped image -- not sure if you can tell from the photo. I also used the Stardust clear glitter pen to outline all the flowers, though in hindsight, I think it was a bit too much.

Anyway, tomorrow's going to be super busy, but I'm hoping to get to play at least a little this coming week. Maybe I should put it on my calendar...and start school a week later than planned (I'm sure the kids wouldn't mind! lol). ;)

Thanks so much for coming to visit me, and I hope you'll stop by again soon. Until then, many blessings to you!

I'm so glad to see that you're back and with such a beautiful, happy card, too! and I don't think you have too much glitter! Looking forward to more posts as you get back in the swing after so much time away.

Look at how sweet this card is!

Girl, I don't know how you've gone this long without stamping. After a few DAYS I get edgy and nervous and really CRANKY! It's like I need my "fix". Us stampers are crazy!

I really like the colors in this card!

I'm with you on the not being able to stamp thing! It's been since just before July 17th for me. Argh...

Hopefully we BOTH get to go back to it soon. Ü

Really pretty card, Christi. The bg paper is yummy and the cs colors coordinate so well with it. That is what I love about CTMH, it can mix and match with so many other papers.

I hear ya' on that too busy to stamp thing. And I, like Maria commented, get crabby if I can't ink something up! So, what I have been doing is keeping a stack of white cardstock on my work surface, along with a black ink pad and a basket of images that I want to stamp. And sometimes in between everything else, I'll stamp off an image or two...sounds silly, but it really keeps me sane! I also have a pouch of stamped images that I can grab along with my marker tote so I can color at a moments notice, like when we go to dance class or to the beach. I even take my colors and images to the library when I take the girls to look for books.

We're moms we can carve time out of no time...LOL!

Have a wonderful weekend!

I love your zinnia image! You did a beautiful job coloring it. And I hardly ever think that you can have too much glitter! Especially the clear stuff. I love it!

Your card is beautiful, Christi! The Sultry paper is perfect with the Zinnias image. Love the way you cut out some of the flowers and popped them up for some added dimension.
