Thank you SO much for taking the time to leave your sweet comments on my ugly graduation card (instead of unsubscribing and/or leaving me forever). I was able to salvage the owl, but the rest of the card is now in the trash. Sadly, I feel a sense of relief and I think the that rippling chunk of paper feels right at home there. lol Jeanne, I'm taking your suggestions to heart and am planning to go with a much shorter-sized card. ;) So 'owl' be seeing you soon with a new, hopefully much better version of Eric's graduation card. (Yep, I'm a dork and couldn't resist the pun.)
My parents are on their way and should be here about lunchtime, so I need to kick it in gear and get the house clean! (Ewwww...I'd much rather be stamping!) We haven't seen them since Christmas, so we're ALL excited about their visit. And it's such a blessing to me to be able to spend Mother's Day with my mom, especially since my older kids will still be in California this weekend.
One last thing I thought I'd mention...my daughter (the 20-YO who was headed to the alter in August) came to a decision yesterday that she wants to postpone the wedding for a while. Not sure just how long 'a while' is, but we're happy that she's thinking beyond the moment and praying for wisdom to do the right thing. It wasn't easy for her to voice her thoughts, as you can imagine, and I can only say that I wish I'd had her strength to do that when I was in her shoes. Of course then I wouldn't have had my three older children and my life wouldn't be what it is today. Okay, let's just say we're very proud of her for not going through with something that could have had potentially devastating life-long consequences down the road. We would love to see them wait until they're both through college and have a better sense of who they are themselves. (This decision also means that I'm no longer stressin' about having to get her invitations made in the next three weeks or wearing an ugly dress because I couldn't find one I liked! lol Bummer though that I finally got all her paper and envelopes ordered just a couple days ago and it's already starting to arrive....)
I'll be back in just a minute to share the Mother's Day card I made for my mom. (I had to wait until I was reasonably certain she wouldn't be able to take a peek at it ahead of time. Me thinks it may have been a mistake to let her know about my blog since quite a few of the cards I make are for her.) Hope you're having a wonderful, beautiful day! And sorry for such a boring post (and with no pics even!).
Thanks so much for the visit, and I hope you'll stop by again soon. Until then, many blessings to you!
